Who is behind SIRMED

The cornerstone for the Swiss Institute for Rescue Medicine was laid by Dr. med. Dr.rer. nat. h.c. Guido A. Zäch, whose vision of creating a system of comprehensive and holistic rehabilitation of people with spinal paralysis, setting an example for other organisations around the world to follow, has largely been realised now. This is because the criteria for achieving the objective of optimum reintegration are "... prompt recovery, professionally competent rescue and careful transport of the accident victim to a centre with the appropriate expertise". This can be applied to anyone with serious injuries.

Therefore, SIRMED is backed by the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation, which is well established among the Swiss population with 1.5 million benefactors.
